Mahindra USA

[ Houston, TX ]

The AEM Manufacturing Express rolled into Mahindra Ag North America to spotlight one of the region’s most enduring manufacturing leaders. The event celebrated the people, products, and innovation that define Mahindra, drawing students, educators, community members, and staff from Congressman Wesley Hunt’s office to Mahindra’s Houston area facility, where 300 employees assemble tractors and utility vehicles.

Sasha, the University of Houston Cougars mascot, tests her knowledge by taking the Manufacturing Challenge.

“For over 30 years, Mahindra Ag North America has proudly stood at the intersection of innovation and purpose in the U.S. manufacturing landscape,” said Viren Popli, President and CEO, Mahindra Ag North America. “This event provided a chance to celebrate manufacturing, our legacy, and to connect with AEM and students to explore career opportunities in agriculture and manufacturing.”

Students and administrators from Rice University, the University of Houston, Miller Career and Technical Center, Work Texas Trade School, and Texas Tech Trade School explored career paths in agriculture and manufacturing. Adding to the energy, University of Houston mascots Sasha and Shasta rallied the crowd, toured the facility, and engaged with students, learning about the AEM Manufacturing Express firsthand. Facility tours, equipment displays, games, and refreshments kept the atmosphere lively and celebratory throughout the day.

The celebration emphasized the critical role equipment manufacturing plays in supporting the Texas and U.S. economy. Mike Dragojevic, Vice President at Mahindra, kicked off the event: “We are all proud Texans, and we are proud of the job that we do for the state of Texas and the community we are a part of. This tour underscores the vital role, and I mean vital role that equipment manufacturing plays in supporting the manufacturing sector and the U.S. economy overall. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the heartbeat of America. This is what makes America go every day, what makes America get up, and what contributes to American society.” Dragojevic also noted that Mahindra has been part of the Houston area for more than 30 years and the company looks forward to the future.

Mahindra has a long history of giving back to the community, supporting local food banks, employees volunteering at charity events, and assisting neighbors during recent floods. In addition to its community impact, the company’s products and people play a critical role across the U.S. This event recognized Mahindra’s hundreds of U.S. employees and family-owned dealers nationwide, who work together to deliver tractors and utility vehicles to farmers, property owners, and workers.

During the event, the winner of its 12th annual Military Salute Giveaway was unveiled, a nationwide initiative honoring the service and sacrifice of U.S. military personnel. Lt. Colonel George Knight, retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves, was awarded the newly debuted ROXOR Independence Edition, a limited edition, off-road, heavy-duty utility vehicle distinguished by a bold, patriotic hood design that pays tribute to America’s armed forces. While Lt. Colonel Knight was unable to attend due to work commitments, the crowd stood together and gave him a round of applause in recognition of his service.

With its tractors, utility vehicles, and a workforce committed to innovation and purpose, Mahindra Ag North America embodies the values of American manufacturing. During its stop, Mahindra showcased its people, products, and legacy, inspiring students and community members to see themselves as part of the next generation of U.S. manufacturing. In true Texas fashion, the pride, energy, and dedication of Mahindra’s team shines bright in the Lone Star state.
