Alamo Group

[ Seguin, TX ]

The Manufacturing Express rolled into Sequin, Texas on August 21 to celebrate one of the town’s longstanding manufacturers, Alamo Group. Mayor Donna Dodgen, members of the Seguin City Council, and local leaders joined the bus to recognize the people behind the equipment: the men and women who build the products that help communities thrive across the globe.

Longtime Alamo employee Angel Hernandez speaks to colleagues and members of the community about his career at Alamo Group and its positive impacts on his life and family.

Alamo Industrial’s Seguin facility is impressive: 230,000 square feet on 10 acres, with 173 employees and room to grow. But what truly sets Alamo apart is not the size of the facility or even the reach of its products; it is the people. As Production Supervisor Angel Hernandez said, “Our employees are like family. We have been through many changes, and it feels better than ever. It’s a great place to work.”

That family spirit runs deep. More than one in five employees have worked at the plant for over 20 years, and 11 employees have been there more than 40 years. Many grew up seeing Alamo products in their own communities, from mowers tending to schoolyards to equipment clearing local streets. That lifelong connection creates a sense of pride that passes from one generation to the next.

For Product Manager Chuck Pavliska, the story is personal. Growing up 30 miles away, he fell in love with tractors at age five. That passion led him to an internship at Alamo, and over the years he has worked his way up through the company. His path reflects the heart of Alamo’s story: roots in the community, a love of building, and careers that grow close to home.

The Seguin facility manufactures Alamo Industrial brand mowers, Terrain King mowers, and the Mantis Prime mover. This equipment plays an invaluable role in the building of communities far beyond the town of Seguin. When a town decides to build a new shopping center or residential neighborhood, equipment like the Mantis Prime plays a key role in clearing the landscape before the construction begins. The way the Alamo Industrial team sees its role, the equipment made here is critical for economic development.

The reach of Alamo Group is global, with more than 30 facilities producing 42 brands. But Seguin holds a special place as both the company’s corporate headquarters and a facility with deep local roots. Alamo has long been an employer of choice in Seguin, and just as importantly, the company gives back to the community that has supported it for decades.

That partnership was clear during the celebration. By showing up in force, local leaders underscored what employees already know: that their work matters, and that Alamo is a cornerstone of Seguin’s economy and culture.

At its core, Alamo Group is about people. People who treat each other like family. People who dedicate decades of their lives to building equipment that support communities near and far. From mowing school fields to strengthening developing nations, the products built in Seguin carry the spirit of a Texas town proud of its place in the world.
